About Us

Nothing is ours, everything belongs to You.

‘Tera’ by definition means ‘Yours’, referring to the Supreme Creator. Everything belongs to Our Creator, nothing belongs to us - ‘I am Yours, O Lord’. ‘Tera’ also alludes to the numerical value of Thirteen. Thirteen has special significance in Sikh Philosophy.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji effectively carried out the responsibilities of a storekeeper when He experienced a spiritual connection with the One. Whilst weighing provisions - “one, two, three…eleven, twelve, thirteen (Tera)” - He fell into deep meditation.

“Tera, Tera, Tera” was being repeated, continuously. Whilst the weighting of the provisions was increasing, the numerical value was stuck at Thirteen. Everything was referring back to The One, The Creator. The customers were receiving goods for no extra charges.

On the store owner's return, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s actions were shown and caused for police inspection. No losses were found and everything was in its perfect place. In fact, the accounts showed a surplus. Nobody could understand the bounties of the Lord.

It is important to keep our Itihaas (history) at the core of everything we do. On eliminating our Ahankaar (Pride / Ego), we realise that everything belongs to Our Creator. We are here to serve our purpose of connecting with the One.

TeraTera has been set up with the intention of spreading core Sikh values. If everything belongs to the One, then the One must be inside all of us.

For this, we are also committed to giving Dasvandh (ten percent) of all profits to support charitable initiatives for disadvantaged communities in India.
